I would believe the first prospect that should be on the mind for the Longhorns’ coaching staff in terms of potential Florida commits to get in contact with in the 2022 or 2023 class is the talented four-star Buford (GA) athlete/wide receiver Isaiah Bond. The 5-foot-11 and 175-pound skill position weapon is the highest-rated commit currently in the Gators’ 2022 class.

And while it is likely that the Gators will put a ton of effort and energy into retaining their top-rated commit in the 2022 class in the weeks and months ahead, Texas should take advantage of any shakiness that could exist in Bond’s commitment. If nothing else, it is worth getting in contact with him now to see what his interests are in exploring other options ahead of the signing days.

Texas has already sent an offer Bond’s way, and second-year wide receivers coach Andre Coleman has maintained consistent contact with the Georgia native before. That could give Texas a starting point to work with moving forward if they want to get back in contact with Bond.

Texas could really use more talented skill position players in the 2022 class. Bond also looks more ready to make an immediate impact either out of the backfield or in the receiving corps than the four-star Texas wide receiver commit and Spearman product Brenen Thompson.

Bond did actually take an official visit to Texas back in June, which came after his May commitment to the Gators. It is also clear that Bond is evaluating his other options to some degree at this point as he took an unofficial visit with Alabama this weekend.

Of all the current Florida commits that come to mind as far as those that Texas could actually try to flip with a reasonable probability, Bond is definitely the one to watch.
