Another former Longhorns’ 2022 commit that had leading indicators of late that he could flip his commitment away from Texas is Miller. And the event finally transpired on Nov. 25 that saw Miller flip his commitment from the Longhorns to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The 5-foot-10 and 195-pound Miller was one of the highest-rated commits in the Longhorns 2022 class prior to flipping to Alabama on Thanksgiving Day. This was a big loss for the Longhorns, but not something worth panicking about.

Texas still holds a blue-chip running back commitment in the 2022 class with four-star Klein Cain product Jaydon Blue. And the Longhorns can still get another running back commit in the 2022 signing class depending on who they target in the weeks ahead.

Nonetheless, Miller was a very highly-touted commit in the 2022 class. He ranks as the nation’s No. 102 2022 high school prospect, No. 7 running back, and No. 18 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 88 high school prospect, No. 6 running back, and No. 17 prospect out of Texas.

Losing the commitment of Miller also helped to drop Texas out of the top spot in the Big 12 recruiting rankings for this cycle behind the rival Oklahoma Sooners.

What looked to be a real turning point for Miller in his recruitment was an Oct. 23 official visit to Alabama in their win over the Tennessee Volunteers in front of an electric atmosphere at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Alabama has constantly pressed to flip the commitment of Miller since that time. And it resulted in them flipping his commitment on Thanksgiving Day.
