Tennessee

One of the likely early considerations in terms of potential landing spots for Rattler out of the transfer portal will be with first-year head coach Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteers in the SEC East. With the offensive progress that Tennessee put on display in the first year under the former UCF Knights head coach Heupel this fall, Rattler has to think about this as a real option to some degree.

While not many of the same people are still with the Tennessee program now compared to when the Vols were pursuing him out of Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, AZ, there is still that connection. That combined with the fact that the Tennessee offense showed some new, and real, signs of life this fall could make or an appealing destination for Rattler.

And with Tennessee potentially seeking quarterback help out of the transfer portal heading into next offseason, Rattler should definitely be on their list of targets to go after. That is if the Vols don’t land a commitment out of the portal first from Heupel’s quarterback at UCF, junior star Dillon Gabriel.

There is something that hangs in the balance here that could greatly impact whether Rattler will seriously consider signing with the Vols out of the transfer portal, similar to that of Arizona State. For Tennessee, we’d likely have to see Gabriel take his talents elsewhere. And for Arizona State, we’d likely have to see Daniels head to the NFL Draft in 2022.
