Derrick Brown, EDGE

The one prospect on this list that doesn’t play on the offensive side of the ball in the Longhorns 2022 class is the touted four-star Texas High edge rusher Derrick Brown. As one of the most vocal commitments in the Longhorns 2022 class at this point, it makes sense that Brown would be doing all he can to lure Ewers to the Forty Acres.

Brown is definitely one of the more energized commits in the Longhorns 2022 class. And he was also one of the more interesting prospects to follow on the recruiting trail prior to his late July commitment to Texas.

It feels like Brown is trying to recruit everyone to the Longhorns right now, whether it be high school prospects or even those talented players out of the transfer portal like Ewers. If nothing else, Brown is constantly staying active on social media to try and get some key offensive line prospects to commit to the Longhorns 2022 class.

Whether it be the likes of Kam Dewberry, Kelvin Banks, Malik Agbo, etc., Brown is helping the push for Texas to build the relationship with a number of these key targets on the recruiting trail. That should energize Ewers about what’s to come with this 2022 signing class.

If he can help make that happen, that alone will be enough to say that he could help sway someone like Ewers to commit to Texas out of the transfer portal.  Brown is definitely one of the more vocal prospects in the Longhorns 2022 class. And if he continues to stay active on social media, it should do nothing but help out on the recruiting trail for Texas.
