Denver Harris, CB

Texas is still fighting to land the commitment of the elite five-star North Shore cornerback Denver Harris up through the second day of the signing period. I wanted to include the Houston-area product Harris as the first name up on this list since he might also be the least likely of this group to commit to Texas when he makes his decision later this week.

Harris looks set to decide between the Longhorns and in-state rival Texas A&M Aggies. It seems like most of the momentum in pursuit of the commitment of Harris sits with the Aggies right now. But Texas is definitely still alive in this race.

At the beginning of this week, it looked like Harris was going to decide early in this signing period. But he pushed his decision back to the day of his state title game, specifically on Dec. 17.

While it would be fantastic to see Texas land a trio of blue-chip commits at the cornerback position in the 2022 class, it doesn’t seem too likely that Harris will land on the Forty Acres. With Texas landing the former Ohio State commit Brooks on the first signing day this week, this great of corners in the 2022 class could now be set.

It is still worth noting that Harris is definitely a name to watch this week for Longhorns fans. With all of the momentum that the Longhorns have gained on the recruiting trail lately, Harris could possibly get caught up in it all and move his decision to Texas later this week.
