Maybe the most underrated tight end right now in the transfer portal is the former Cal Golden Bears 6-foot-3 and 240-pound senior Gavin Reinwald. If Sark and the Longhorns want to go out and get more of a traditional and versatile tight end that is reliable on the edge of the line in the blocking game, and a threat in the passing game, Reinwald could be their guy.

By now, Longhorns fans should know that Sark is not going to utilize a big tight end as much as he should in the passing game. But we do know the type of offense that Sark is going to bring to the table. And he’s never really been one to utilize a taller tight end as a consistent weapon in his own right in the passing game.

That’s likely why we just saw the former three-star recruit and junior tight end Jared Wiley enter the transfer portal last week.

During his four years playing for Cal, Reinwald registered just over 300 passing yards and four passing touchdowns. And in 48 career targets at tight end, Reinwald has just two drops. He is also one of the higher graded tight ends in the blocking game in the PAC-12 over the course of the last three seasons.

All in all, I’ve included Reinwald on this list for two reasons. The first is the fact that Texas might turn to the transfer portal to replace Wiley at tight end in 2022. Reinwald is a symbol of that. And the second reason why is just the fact that Reinwald is a quality underrated tight end in the transfer portal right now.
