3 key recruits impressed by Texas’ hire of WR coach Brennan Marion
Micah Hudson, WR
With the Longhorns landing their first commitment of the 2024 class in the last week in the potential blue-chip Aledo cornerback Jaden Allen, there is some momentum that could be picking up soon for this cycle. Texas should still be keeping a heavy emphasis on rounding out the 2022 class and getting a solid start with the 2023 class, but hitting the ground running with the 2024 cycle is great to see too.
This is why it’s nice to see the traction that the Longhorns are seeing early on with the rising 2024 Lake Belton 6-foot and 185-pound wide receiver Micah Hudson. There aren’t many more talented 2024 high school prospects that Texas can be looking at for their class right now than Hudson. And it appears that there is a good connection that the Texas staff is already building with him.
I wouldn’t be shocked in the slightest to see Hudson get a Texas offer in the near future. He did hold an offer from Pitt while Marion was the wide receivers coach for the Panthers last year. Texas would be offering what looks to be one of the 50 or 100 most potent and talented 2024 prospects at the moment if they get one out to Hudson.
According to a report from Inside Texas this week (part of the On3 Network, paid content), Hudson is getting excited to hear from Marion after he got hired by Texas this week. One of the early schools to offer Hudson was Pitt while Marion was on that staff. Texas is likely going to emerge as a major player in his recruitment if they can get an offer his way soon.
