A prospect to watch that is a target of the Longhorns 2023 class that this staff looks to have a lot of momentum with right now is the touted four-star Kinkaid School (TX) cornerback Micah Bell. You have to consider how the Longhorns are going to want to build out the 2023 class, and if it continues to involve placing so much priority on these defensive backs.

The first commit in the Longhorns 2023 class came from the four-star Arlington-Seguin defensive back Jamel Johnson. It also appears that Texas is making Bell one of their bigger priorities ahead of spring ball in a couple of months.

There is something brewing in the defensive backfield for these two recruiting cycles for the Longhorns. Land a guy like Bell, and Texas could really start to take off.

Texas has a solid haul in the defensive backfield so far in the 2022 class between four-star Memorial cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau, four-star Aledo safety BJ Allen Jr., and four-star Denton-Ryan safety Austin Jordan, among a couple of others.

I am not saying that this recruitment is over with Bell when I mention that there looks to be some real traction with the Texas coaching staff of late. There are some other top schools still in the mix to land a commitment from Bell. That includes the likes of the Tennessee Volunteers, Michigan Wolverines, and Texas A&M Aggies, among a few others.

If Texas can soon get a visit from Bell, that could go a long way to continuing the wave of momentum they’ve found with him of late on the recruiting trail.
