Predicting Texas’ first 2023 commit of the New Year
Dalton Brooks, WR
Another key target of the Longhorns 2023 class that has plenty of momentum with this coaching staff right now is the uber-talented four-star Shiner (LA) wide receiver, Dalton Brooks. Texas would obviously love to build out the foundation of their 2023 class with a potentially elite wide receiver such as Brooks.
Wide receiver will continue to be one of the most emphasized positions in the Longhorns 2023 class. And Texas is going to try to make as much of an impression as they can on the likes of Brooks, four-star DeSoto product Johntay Cook II, five-star Langham Creek product Jacquiaze Pettaway as soon as the dead period runs up later this month.
Brooks looks to be one of the names to watch right now for the Longhorns 2023 class. There seems to be this type of lightning in a bottle effect that this Texas coaching staff has with Sark leading the program. That was the case with Texas last offseason. And it was even the case with this Longhorns staff ahead of the start of the Early Signing Period last month.
Texas would do really well to get a visit locked in from Brooks soon. If Texas can do that, it would go a long way to moving into more of a frontrunner-type role with Brooks. He would be one of the top-ranked prospects that the Longhorns could get in the 2023 class without a doubt.
Brooks ranks as the nation’s No. 49 2023 high school prospect, No. 5 athlete, and No. 9 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite).
