While there were already a number of impact players that second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program found out of the NCAA Transfer Portal already this offseason, the job isn’t done yet. Texas still has a few scholarship spots remaining on the roster in 2022, which will be filled by some players that might not even be in the transfer portal yet.

The number of scholarship spots available for Sark and the Longhorns staff to work with this offseason could also vary depending on any potential roster attrition during and after spring ball. There could be more roster evaluation on the way in spring ball that causes further turnover if the coaching staff isn’t happy about what they have in the mix at that time.

Which transfer portal targets could Texas football land in February?

So far this offseason, Texas has brought in four players by way of the transfer portal. The two most recent are the former Alabama Crimson Tide junior tight end Jahleel Billingsley and Wyoming Cowboys breakout redshirt freshman wide receiver Isaiah Neyor.

Texas also brought in the likes of two former Ohio State Buckeyes players out of the transfer portal this offseason in freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers and redshirt freshman cornerback Ryan Watts. These four transfer portal additions all certainly can bring value to the table for the Longhorns right away.

But it looks like the Longhorns are still seeking out some immediate impact players at various positions of need on both sides of the ball in 2022. With that in mind, here’s a look into four players to watch in the transfer portal in February.
