In the second game of this three-game series with the Alabama Crimson Tide out of the SEC, No. 1 ranked Texas baseball and head coach David Pierce are looking to stay undefeated. But Texas will have to wait roughly one hour longer than they were originally supposed to before facing the Crimson Tide on the afternoon of Feb. 26.

Pierce and the Longhorns were originally set to have the first pitch against the Crimson Tide come at 1:30 p.m. CT. A tweet from the official Texas Baseball page on Feb. 26 indicates that the start time is now set for 2:30 p.m. CT.

Texas will have redshirt senior right-hander Tristan Stevens getting the call on the mound against the Crimson Tide as this team tries to stay undefeated in their seventh game of the season. The first start of the season for Stevens came when he gave the Longhorns six shutout innings, with three strikeouts and just four hits allowed, in a Feb. 19 win over the Rice Owls.

The starting pitcher for the Crimson Tide will be Antoine Jean, who comes in with no decisions on the season and an earned run average of 4.50.

It looks like the reason for the delay for the time of the first pitch between the Longhorns and Crimson Tide on Feb. 26 has to do with rain. The weather throughout much of the state of Texas this week was pretty nasty. And that looks to be the case for the second of three games in this weekend series at UFCU Disch-Falk Field between Texas and Alabama.

If there are any other updates that come down regarding the delayed start time for this Feb. 26 meeting in Austin between Texas and Alabama, we will stay on top of them.

Texas comes into this Feb. 26 meeting with Alabama at home at the Disch sporting a spotless record of 6-0 (0-0 Big 12). Texas stayed undefeated after a very close one-run win in the series opener over the Crimson Tide by the final score of 1-0 on Feb. 25. This will be a big one for Pierce and the Longhorns to get their third straight series win to start the season off if they can top Alabama again on this day.
