In the final game of the regular season slate, No. 21 ranked Texas basketball and head coach Chris Beard are set to face head coach Bill Self and the No. 6 ranked Kansas Jayhawks on the road at Allen Fieldhouse. Texas will be looking to right the ship after a tough seven-point loss at the hands of the No. 3 ranked Baylor Bears and head coach Scott Drew in the home finale back on Feb. 28.

Beard and the Longhorns had a real shot to upset Baylor and round out their run at the Frank Erwin Center for good on a high note. Yet, Texas is now left with one last opportunity to put a statement win on their resume ahead of the start of the Big 12 Tournament.

A win over Kansas would go a long way to proving that the Longhorns should be considered a top four-seed come Selection Sunday. It would also give this team a ton of momentum heading into the Big 12 Tournament, where the Longhorns will be trying to defend their conference crown.

Moreover, Texas could also extend their winning streak to four games against Self and the Jayhawks if they come out on top in this one. You have to go back to the 2019-20 season to find the last time that the Jayhawks beat the Longhorns on the hardwood.

Texas comes into this meeting with Kansas with a record of 21-9 (10-7 Big 12). Meanwhile, Kansas will be looking to lock up the Big 12 regular season crown if they can top Texas in this game.
