3 blue-chip recruits Texas football is trending to land in March
Jaydon Chatman, IOL
One of the most underrated and important prospects for the Longhorns in the 2023 class in the trenches on either side of the ball is the skilled four-star Harker Heights (TX) interior offensive lineman Jaydon Chatman. Texas could really use this 6-foot-4 and 290-pound likely offensive guard at the next level to anchor the 2023 class in the trenches.
While it might not seem like the Longhorns have all that much work to do along the offensive line in the 2023 class, coming off their stellar haul in the 2022 signing class at this spot, it is still crucial to hit on some of their top in-state targets here. And Chatman definitely fits into that bucket as one of the Longhorns’ top in-state targets along the offensive line for this recruiting cycle.
Amid a group of in-state offensive linemen that offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns staff seem to be doing a great job of connecting with so far during this cycle, Chatman definitely has close ties here. Texas has done well so far during the recruiting cycle with Chatman. And it’s not out of the question that he could be the first offensive lineman to commit in the 2023 class.
The most recent expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction projects the commitment of Chatman to land with Texas. But that Crystal Ball Prediction came with just a moderate level of confidence. So, this will be one to watch heading into the spring.
Texas did also get a prediction in their favor with the On3 recruiting prediction machine giving the Longhorns more than a 90 percent chance to eventually land the commitment of Chatman.
