Avion Carter, DL

The most recent notable Crystal Ball Prediction that went in Texas’ favor for any blue-chip target of the 2023 class came concerning the four-star Tascosa (TX) defensive lineman Avion Carter. Texas got the Crystal Ball Prediction for Carter on the morning of March 9.

And the good news here for the Longhorns is the fact that this projection to land the commitment of Carter came with more confidence than that of Chatman. If Texas can eventually reel in the commitment of Carter, that would go a long way to continuing the massive amount of momentum that defensive line coach Bo Davis got going on the recruiting trail for his position group last year.

Davis is doing a tremendous job on the recruiting trail with top defensive line prospects such as Carter.

But this is also a recruitment that is definitely not over yet. Other Big 12 foes such as the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Texas Tech Red Raiders are still pushing very hard for Carter. And it’s not hard to see why.

Moreover, it is also worth noting that the On3 recruiting prediction machine has Texas and Texas Tech tied in terms of percentage odds to eventually win the battle to land the commitment of Carter. It will be interesting to see how that changes as the spring moves along.
