One of the biggest positions of need for Sark and the Longhorns staff to fill entering the offseason came at wide receiver. With Texas losing the former blue-chip recruit and redshirt junior wideout Joshua Moore to the transfer portal before the end of last season, there was a sizable need for the staff to get help on the outside specifically.

And that’s exactly what the Longhorns got by landing a commitment out of the portal from the former Wyoming Cowboys breakthrough redshirt freshman wide receiver Isaiah Neyor. The reigning All-Mountain West Conference wideout was one of the most impressive underclassmen at his position in the entire country last season.

The 6-foot-3 and 210-pound standout possession receiver raked in nearly 900 receiving yards and more than a dozen total touchdowns during a breakout freshman campaign. And that production should be able to translate right away for Texas.

By most accounts, Neyor is really making an instant impression on the coaching staff since he arrived on campus last month. Knowing that he’s already making the right impression with the coaches before spring camp even begins just goes to show how much of a big splash addition Neyor could be for this receiving corps.

Neyor is likely going to get the first-team reps at outside receiver for Texas in spring drills. That will truly be his time to shine as he looks to prove he should be the starter in that spot this fall.

Texas has a truly potent trio among their projected starting group of wideouts in 2022 between the likes of Neyor, rising sophomore star Xavier Worthy, and the elusive redshirt junior Jordan Whittington.
