Cedric Baxter Jr., RB

This feels like a really decisive momentum in the race to land a commitment from the ultra-talented four-star Edgewater (FL) running back Cedric Baxter Jr. this spring. Baxter

The time is now for the Longhorns to capitalize on the momentum they built on the recruiting trail with Baxter after hiring the former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets running backs coach Tashard Choice. This recruitment will also be a big test for Choice himself to see how he fares on the recruiting trail pursuing one of the top talents at the position in the entire country for this cycle.

While Baxter isn’t the top target overall at the running back position in the Longhorns 2023 class, he is likely second up on the big board.

The top spot belongs to another running back on this list among the top targets at the position for the Longhorns 2023 class.

Yet, it is critical for Texas to remain in the midst of this top group of schools that they seemingly are hanging around with in the recruitment of Baxter this spring. This is the time for Texas to make the right impression with Baxter before the likes of the Miami Hurricanes, USC Trojans, Florida Gators, etc. really start to pull away.

There will be a ton of skill position talent present on campus this weekend. This will be the right type of buzz and energy to really capitalize on the aforementioned momentum Texas has built with Baxter in the last few months.
