In the midst of the spring visit season on the Forty Acres, the 2023 and 2024 Texas football recruiting classes seem to both be picking up a lot of traction in the last few weeks. Texas’ coaching staff appears to be doing a great job on the recruiting trail in the midst of this important stretch of weeks during the spring visit season.

The last two weekends saw second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff have two of the bigger visitor lists of what could be the entire offseason. Texas hosted multiple top five-star targets of their 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes in the last couple of weekends. That includes the likes of five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning, five-star El Campo running back Rueben Owens, and five-star Arlington-Martin cornerback Javien Toviano, among many others.

Texas even got an underrated commitment that adds another key piece to the 2023 defensive recruiting class in the polished three-star North Crowley linebacker S’Maje Burrell.

Who Texas football impressed in the first major visit weekend of April?

We’ll see if Sark and the Longhorns staff can parlay landing the commitment of Burrell last weekend into some real momentum on the recruiting trail for the rest of the visit weekends coming up this spring.

That could also help Texas get a real wave of momentum going on the recruiting trail heading into the early summer months. Texas could be heating up on the trail at the right time this offseason.
