Texas baseball vs. Baylor: Betting odds, TV/stream, pick
Following an up and down two-game midweek series against the Air Force Falcons a few days ago, head coach David Pierce and No. 10 ranked Texas baseball are now set to return to Big 12 play at home this weekend. Texas is going through a rough stretch of late and they now have a shot to get back on track this weekend against the Baylor Bears.
Pierce and the Longhorns are coming off a win over Air Force out of the Mountain West Conference, which came by the final score of 12-10 back on April 20 thanks to a walk-off from Trey Faltine. Texas split the two-game midweek series with Air Force earlier this week, which gives them a record of 27-13 (6-6 Big 12) heading into the series opener against Baylor.
Meanwhile, Baylor comes into this weekend series against the Longhorns following a 9-5 win over Sam Houston State at home back on April 9. Baylor is now sitting on a four-game winning streak dating back to a dominant 19-2 win over the Kansas Jayhawks at home back on April 15. That gives the Bears a record of 20-17 (4-8 Big 12) heading into this weekend series.
Here’s a look at the betting odds, TV/streaming information, and game prediction as Texas gets set to host Baylor at home at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin for a three-game series, which begins on April 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Texas baseball vs. Baylor pick
There won’t be many other weekend series for the rest of the regular season where Pierce and the Longhorns could build much-needed momentum against a beatable opponent. While Baylor is an opponent that Texas should be able to take care of, the Bears are still good enough for Pierce to feel good about the direction of his squad if they can take the weekend series.
In the series opener on April 22, Texas will have their ace and redshirt sophomore left-hander, Pete Hansen, on the mound as the starter against Baylor. Hansen is coming off his worst start of the season so far against the Kansas State Wildcats last weekend where he allowed six earned runs and eight hits in 6.1 innings of work on the mound.
This looks like a prime opportunity for Hansen to bounce back and give the Longhorns a much-needed shot in the arm. It could help him get back on track and give Texas more confidence before the stretch run of the Big 12 schedule if they can get a comfortable win over Baylor entering the weekend.
Texas is set to have Tristan Stevens and Lucas Gordon once again round out this weekend series as the starters. If Hansen and Stevens can return to their usual form this weekend, then Texas will have a great chance to take the series over the Bears.
