Spencer Lovell, OG

There’s not a whole lot for the Longhorns to pursue among offensive linemen in the portal at this point of the offseason. If Texas wanted help along the offensive line via the transfer portal, they likely needed to do so earlier this offseason.

Yet, there are still a few names that surfaced in the transfer portal recently for the Longhorns that are at least worth a look for offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood, starting with the former Arizona State Sun Devils redshirt sophomore offensive guard Spencer Lovell.

Lovell has a few starts under his belt and held up relatively well blocking for former Sun Devils quarterback Jayden Daniels last season. He could help shore up the guard depth for Texas ahead of next season.

Ezra Dotson-Oyetade, C

What looks to be the most potent offensive linemen that the Longhorns could bring in by way of the transfer portal this spring is another former Sun Devil and freshman center Ezra Dotson-Oyetade. As one of the most highly-touted center recruits during the 2021 cycle, Dotson-Oyetade could be a gem of a find at the position for Texas to bolster the depth in this spot.

Gary Hoover, OG

My personal favorite among the under-the-radar offensive linemen in the portal at this point of the offseason is the former Ohio Bobcats redshirt sophomore guard Gary Hoover. This sizable 6-foot-4 and 330-pound interior offensive lineman was a regular starter for the first time in his career last season and had an effectiveness rate in pass blocking around 98.5.

That was much better than the 97.8 effectiveniss rate in pass blocking for Texas last season.
