Sixth Man: Christian Bishop

The bench is largely still being formed for Beard and the Longhorns at this point of the offseason. But a good portion of the bench is likely to be made up of this incoming 2022 signing class which includes four touted true freshmen.

An obvious selection at this point of the offseason to fill the sixth man role next season is the former Creighton Blue Jays transfer and returning super senior big man Christian Bishop. As a real force to be reckoned with on the glass last season, Bishop will be a spark plug in all likelihood coming off the bench for the Longhorns during the 2022-23 campaign.

Bishop was one of the best rebounders on the roster last season, especially on the offensive glass. He was also an underrated rim protector that led the team with 0.9 blocks per game last season.

Honorable Mention: Jabari Rice

Point Guard: Arterio Morris

There are two options we could roll with here in terms of the projected starting point guard for the Longhorns ahead of next season. But we’re going to go with the former Dallas-Kimball floor general and elite five-star recruit Arterio Morris. This touted incoming freshman should be a big part of the starting unit next season regardless if he plays at the one or the two.

Morris is a polished primary facilitator that can both create his own looks and use his tremendous vision to make plays for his teammates on the offensive end. It’s also worth noting Morris’ insane burst off-the-dribble and his standout on-ball defense. His perimeter defense will be something that will put Big 12 hoops fans on alert right away next season.

Backup: Rowan Brumbaugh
