Breaking down 3 elite Texas football recruits announcing this summer
Arch Manning, QB
The most highly anticipated decision for the Longhorns fans on the recruiting trail this summer will definitely be coming from the elite five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning. Texas is figured to be setting the pace in the race to land a commitment at the moment along with Georgia. And the Alabama Crimson Tide is another top program sticking around among the trio to watch in the Arch sweepstakes heading into the summer.
It looks like the three schools in line to get official visits from Manning this summer are going to be the aforementioned group of Texas, Georgia, and Alabama. But it appears the two schools to watch right now with Manning are Texas and Georgia.
Alabama is firmly in the mix among the top schools with the fellow five-star 2023 QB recruit Eli Holstein. And if head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide seal the deal with Holstein this summer, that will obviously hurt their chances with Arch.
Moreover, there are some leading indicators in place right now showing that the Longhorns could be now taking the role of the frontrunner in the race to land a commitment from Manning. Multiple analyst forecasts came in this week from major recruiting sources showing favor to Texas in the Manning sweepstakes.
With Manning expected to make a decision at some point this summer, Texas fans will be on the edge of their seats waiting on the word from potentially the most highly-touted quarterback recruit in program history (possibly barring Quinn Ewers and/or Vince Young). Texas looks to be in a great spot with Manning right now and they’ll need to have a very successful final official visit with him next month to seal the deal in this recruitment.
I would personally consider Texas the betting favorite with Manning at this moment.
