Quinn Ewers, QB

We already saw the former Ohio State Buckeyes freshman transfer quarterback and elite five-star recruit Quinn Ewers give his pitch to Addison via social media this week. While Ewers definitely already has a loaded supporting cast at the skill positions at this point of the offseason, adding Addison to the mix would do nothing but good things for him.

It’s hard to imagine how potent this Texas offense could be if Ewers had the likes of senior tight end Jahleel Billingsley, sophomore tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders, Worthy, Whittington, Neyor, Bijan, Addison, etc., all together in one supporting cast this fall.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Ewers would be the biggest benefactor of all to have Addison in the mix in his supporting cast heading into the 2022 season. Ewers has all the arm talent in the world to succeed as the Longhorns’ starting quarterback this fall. But there are two major factors that will determine his success. And only one of those factors will be something that Ewers controls.

The one that he can’t control is the play of the offensive line. Texas needs to improve the offensive line this fall if this offense wants to have any hope of coming close to reaching its insane potential.

Furthermore, the other factor that will contribute to Ewers’ success is how comfortable he can get as the starting quarterback early in the 2022 campaign. And something that could clearly contribute to Ewers getting comfortable right away is adding the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner to his supporting cast.

Just imagine Texas having the Big 12’s leader in receiving touchdowns, yards after the catch, and missed tackles forced from last season in Worthy combined with the nation’s leader in receiving yards and touchdowns from last season in Addison.
