One of the big additions via the NCAA Transfer Portal for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian, new wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion, and the Texas football program this offseason is the former Alabama Crimson Tide touted freshman wideout Agiye Hall. Texas landed a commitment out of the portal from Hall back on April 19, just a couple of days after his name originally surfaced on the transfer market (specifically back on April 7).

Hall will be joining Sark, Marion, and the Longhorns after spending just one season playing for head coach Nick Saban and the defending National Champion runner-up Crimson Tide. He is familiar with a good portion of this coaching staff in Austin, though, as the likes of Sark, Jeff Banks, Kyle Flood, etc., were working under Saban and the Crimson Tide during Hall’s recruitment out of high school.

Given that Hall committed to Texas out of the portal before the conclusion of spring ball, most would figure he would’ve enrolled at the university by now. But that is not the case as of yet.

According to a report from 247Sports on May 17, Hall is “on track to enroll at Texas by the end of the month”. This report apparently came from Hall’s 7-on-7 football coach Woodrow Grady, who immediately shot down any rumors that Hall would potentially be backing off his commitment from Texas.

Texas football looking to get transfer WR Agiye Hall enrolled and on campus by June

As Hall took down essentially any mentioning of the Longhorns in his posts on social media this week, some Texas fans were wondering what was up. Combine that with the fact that Hall is not yet listed on the Longhorns roster at this moment in time, and it’s easier to see why some fans were questioning Hall’s status with the team.

Yet, this report should provide clarity that Hall is in fact going to enroll in classes for the June semester, thus likely joining the Longhorns football team for summer workouts.

This all would essentially mean that Hall is set to be enrolled and on campus at the University of Texas by early June. That would get him to campus in time to both begin classes at the university for the upcoming semester while getting him ready to participate in the team’s summer workout program.

Texas officially concluded spring camp with the altered version of the annual Orange-White spring football game on April 23. Sark and the Longhorns are set to open up the 2022 regular season at home on Sep. 3 against Louisiana-Monroe.
