Texas football reporter says to be on alert for Arch Manning decision soon
Following what promises to be one of the biggest weekends on the recruiting trail this calendar year for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program, the fans on the Forty Acres are now awaiting a key decision from an elite quarterback. Texas hosted five-star Isidore Newman signal caller Arch Manning over the weekend on his official visit to Austin.
And it looks like this official visit was a success by most accounts in the days since this trip concluded for Arch and his camp. Texas got what could be the final official visit from Arch this offseason, which specifically lasted from June 17-19.
The main question now surrounding the recruitment of Arch is where Texas stands among his top schools and how a potential decision timeline could come together. The formulation of the decision timeline for Arch could tell us a lot about how he feels about the likes of the Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs this summer.
The problem with that is that Arch and his camp aren’t forthcoming with much information at all it seems, and any potential decision timeline that comes about will likely be unknown beyond the people in his closest circle.
Texas football could reportedly see Arch Manning announce his decision in the next few weeks
The word around town seems to be that we should at least expect a decision from Arch ahead of his senior high school football season with Newman. And a recent discussion between Bobby Burton and Justin Wells of Inside Texas mentioned that it is realistic to that a decision could come from Arch in the next few weeks.
While nothing is assured in this recruitment at the moment, it is starting to look like Arch is more likely than not to have a decision ready in the next four or six weeks at the latest.
And if Arch wants to make a decision before fall camp begins at Newman, that would mean a decision timeline before mid-August. The start date for the first day of fall practice for the LHSAA in 2022 is set for Aug. 8.
Yet, that is still just speculation regarding a potential decision timeline for Arch. This recruitment continues to be one of the quieter sagas in terms of the information that comes out from Arch’s inner circle.
All we can really say now is that Texas is confident in its pitch to Arch. Sark and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee did do about everything they could up to this point to make the best impression with Arch and his camp.
Arch’s visit to Texas last weekend was his fourth since last summer. That will likely also be his last visit to Texas before there is a decision in place from him this offseason.
