4-Star Texas football target Mikal Harrison-Pilot trending to TCU
There is a new challenger coming about for the Texas football program on the recruiting trail out of the Big 12 this fall. The TCU Horned Frogs and new head coach Sonny Dykes are duking it out with head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff for a few different priority Texas targets this fall.
A solid start to the season for the Horned Frogs that sees them undefeated through four games for the first time since 2017 has generated some momentum for Dykes and his staff on the recruiting trail. And some critical targets for Sark and the Longhorns staff such as the highly touted four-star Garland Naaman Forest defensive lineman Markis Deal, four-star Temple athlete/wide receiver Mikal Harrison-Pilot, and four-star Red Oak safety Warren Roberson are some notable recruiting targets that TCU is making some big moves with of late.
It’s starting to look like one of those three recruits for the Longhorns in the 2023 class is starting to trend in favor of the Horned Frogs early this month. Harrison-Pilot has multiple analyst forecasts/crystal ball picks projecting his commitment to TCU.
Sam Spiegelman of On3 put in a forecast for Harrison-Pilot to TCU on Oct. 3 with a decent level of confidence (65 percent). And the On3 recruiting prediction machine has now bumped up TCU’s chances of landing Harrison-Pilot’s to 64.9 percent.
Until roughly one week ago, the On3 RPM favored Texas over TCU to land Harrison-Pilot’s commitment.
4-Star Texas football WR target Mikal Harrison-Pilot now projected to commit to TCU
There is a similar trend showing up in the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions.
The two most recent expert crystal ball predictions project Harrison-Pilot’s commitment to TCU. There is a similar moderate-to-high level of confidence in the crystal balls as there was in the On3 forecast.
Moreover, even Nick Harris of Rivals flipped his FutureCast from Texas to TCU for Harrison-Pilot this week. That now makes it all three of the major recruiting services that place commitment forecasts (On3, 247Sports, and Rivals) that have Harrison-Pilot projected to land with the Horned Frogs.

Texas currently holds commitments from 21 recruits in the 2023 class as of Oct. 8. There are currently two wide receiver commits in the Longhorns 2023 class including the elite five-star DeSoto product Johntay Cook and four-star Aldine Eisenhower product Ryan Niblett.
