Texas football trending for 4-Star TCU S commit Warren Roberson
Big news could soon be coming on the trail for the 2023 Texas football recruiting class. It looks like the efforts recruiting through the whistle pre-late National Signing Day could soon pay dividends for head coach Steve Sarkisian and this staff with the highly touted four-star TCU Horned Frogs safety commit and Red Oak (TX) safety Warren Roberson.
Sark and the Longhorns staff hosted Roberson for an official visit to the Forty Acres this weekend. And from what we’re hearing from the early stages of the scheduled official visit, it sounds like Texas is starting to trend for Roberson.
Multiple recruiting services have forecasted Roberson to Texas early this weekend.
Two On3 RPM picks were entered with high confidence levels this weekend from national analyst Sam Spiegelman and Inside Texas’ Gerry Hamilton for Texas to flip Roberson’s commitment from TCU.

There were also multiple expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions entered favoring Texas to flip Roberson from TCU. This includes a Crystal Ball from Mike Roach of Horns247 entered with a high level of confidence this weekend.
The news of Roberson trending to Texas comes just after he had the Longhorns staff for an in-home visit earlier in the week. He also made the trip unofficially to see the USC Trojans last weekend.
But it looks like Texas is getting the edge over head coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans heading into the week of the late signing day. Getting the final word among in-person visits could prove to be massive in this recruitment.
Texas is currently sitting at 24 high school recruits committed to the 2023 class as of the morning of Jan. 28. Roberson could bring Texas up to 25 high school commits and 30 total scholarship spots (including portal players) to cap the 2023 recruiting cycle.
