We’re now down to the final three home games of the regular season for interim head coach Rodney Terry and No. 6 Texas basketball. And this weekend could bring the final unranked opponent of the regular season for Texas.

Terry and the Longhorns will duke it out with head coach Porter Moser and the Oklahoma Sooners in the second edition of the Red River Rivalry game on the hardwood this season. This is an opportunity for the Longhorns to sweep the regular season series against Oklahoma with a win this weekend.

Texas heads into this matchup against Oklahoma with a record of 20-6 (9-4 Big 12) following a bad loss on the road in Lubbock on Feb. 13 at the hands of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, by the final score of 74-67. The loss to Texas Tech now places Texas in a three-way tie for first place in the Big 12 standings along with the Kansas Jayhawks and Baylor Bears.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma comes into the weekend with a record of 13-13 (3-10 Big 12) after an upset win at home over the No. 12 Kansas State Wildcats at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman on Feb. 14, by the final score of 79-65. That win over Kansas State snapped a four-game losing streak for the Sooners.

Here’s a look at the betting odds and game predictions as Texas gets set to host Oklahoma in Red River at the Moody Center in Austin on Feb. 18, with the tip-off time set for 1 p.m. CT. This game will be broadcast live on Big 12 Now/ESPN+.

Texas basketball vs. Oklahoma: Betting odds for Feb. 18

Texas is a 10.5-point favorite against Oklahoma and the over/under is set at 143.5 (per FanDuel).

The moneyline favors Texas (-630) pretty heavily over Oklahoma (+450).

According to Kenpom, Texas has an 81 percent chance of beating Oklahoma. And Kenpom projects Texas to beat Oklahoma 77-67 in this game.

Texas vs. Oklahoma prediction

If Texas is able to claim the win against Oklahoma this weekend, it would be the fifth straight in this series, dating back to the 2020-21 season. But the last meeting between these two teams came down to the wire on New Year’s Eve.

Texas topped Oklahoma in Norman on Dec. 31 by a narrow final score of 70-69.

But this game should favor Texas a lot more heavily than the first time around against Oklahoma. Texas has found its stride at home in Big 12 play this season, sporting a record of 5-1 in conference play at the Moody Center.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma is still seeking out its first regulation win in conference play on the road this season. The Sooners did beat Texas Tech on the road in Lubbock in overtime earlier this season, though.

If Texas can keep Oklahoma from heating up beyond the arc while remaining disruptive on the defensive end, I like its chance to come out with a comfortable win. In the 12 games this season where Oklahoma shot at least 37 percent from deep, it is 11-1. There is a similar trend for the Sooners when it turns the ball over more than 15 times this season.

Next. Texas vs. OU: 3 bold predictions. dark

This will be a game where we need to namely see the senior duo of guard Marcus Carr and forward Timmy Allen step up. If Texas can get both Carr and Allen to score in double figures, I have a really hard time seeing this team win by fewer than 10 points.

Final score prediction: Texas-78, Oklahoma-64
