The spring visit schedule is coming together for Texas football recruiting as head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff has stayed busy on the trail early this offseason. Texas is in the process of or has already scheduled, visits with multiple recruits in the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes for the spring.

The biggest name in the 2026 class that holds a Texas offer, 6-foot-2 Carrollton (GA) quarterback Julian “JuJu” Lewis, is one of the prospects to watch that will be on campus for a trip to Austin this spring. Multiple reports on the morning of Feb. 23 (including from Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports) confirm that Lewis will be taking an unofficial visit to Austin on the weekend of March 24.

This report from Wiltfong mentions six different visits in what will be a jam-packed spring schedule for Lewis and his family.

The other five schools that Lewis will visit unofficially this spring (at least from what we know of at the moment) are the Florida State Seminoles (March 6), Georgia Bulldogs (March 16), Alabama Crimson Tide (March 30), USC Trojans (April 8), and Ohio State Buckeyes (April 14). He will reportedly take a multi-day visit to Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ spring game on the weekend of April 14.

This spring trip to Austin will be Lewis’ third since last summer. He made his first unofficial visit to Austin on the same weekend he received an offer from Texas, on June 11, 2022.

And then, Lewis made his first return trip to Austin on the weekend of Oct. 1 to watch the Longhorns face the West Virginia Mountaineers at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Texas is one of roughly a half-dozen schools that Lewis has visited multiple times in the last couple of years. Georgia currently leads the way with a whopping seven visits on record for Lewis going back to 2021.

Alabama along with the Clemson Tigers and Florida Gators have also hosted Lewis for at least three unofficial visits each.

Moreover, Lewis’ recruitment has really blown up in the last year. A big freshman campaign at Carrollton where he threw for more than 4,100 yards, 48 touchdowns, and a dozen interceptions (per MaxPreps).

Lewis has continued to impress coaches, college scouts, and the media alike with his solid run on the 7v7 and camp/combine circuit early this offseason. He’s got great timing, arm strength, and accuracy at all levels of the field.

Texas is clearly prioritizing Lewis’ recruitment as he is the only quarterback offer in the 2026 class at the moment. He was also one of the first few Texas offers at any position in the 2026 class.

Lewis’ recruitment is obviously still in its early stages, but he already has more offers than any other quarterback in the 2026 class. After reeling in offers from the likes of the LSU Tigers, Ohio State, and USC, among many other schools just since the start of 2023, Lewis is now up over 30 offers in total.
