Ex-4-Star Texas football commit Aeryn Hampton visiting on Friday
A busy visit season for Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian on the recruiting trail this spring will continue to last until the conclusion of the Orange-White spring football game on April 15 at DKR. Texas has hosted more than 30 visiting recruits from the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes since the start of spring ball last month.
And another key visitor that is a familiar name to Texas fans on the recruiting trail was added to the list this week.
Former four-star Texas commit and Carthage (TX) athlete/wide receiver Aeryn Hampton announced on social media on the evening of April 3 that he “will be in Austin Friday”.
This will be the second time that Hampton visits the Forty Acres unofficially this spring. He also made the short trip to Austin for the second Junior Day of the offseason on the weekend of March 25.

Hampton will be one of a handful of visitors the Longhorns are expecting on campus this coming weekend. Four-star Oregon Ducks offensive tackle commit Fox Crader is another blue-chip visitor to watch for the Longhorns in the 2024 class this weekend.
Moreover, despite de-committing from Texas in November 2022, Hampton has still kept the Longhorns in the mix among the top group of schools in his recruitment. Texas made it in Hampton’s top seven schools, which he announced on Feb. 8, 2023.
Hampton has also set plenty of visits to Texas this offseason. In addition to the two unofficial visits he’s taking to Texas this spring, he’s also got an official visit on the docket to Austin on June 16.
He scheduled the Texas official visit along with two other officials he will be taking in June, to see the Alabama Crimson Tide (June 23) and UTSA Roadrunners (June 14).
While Hampton did not include UTSA in his initial group of seven finalist schools that he announced a couple of months ago, it does look like the Roadrunners are in the mix.
Texas currently has two high school recruits committed to the 2024 class as of the writing of this article on the morning of April 4. According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2024 Texas recruiting class ranks at No. 46 in the nation and sixth in the Big 12.
