Texas football sets summer official visit with 5-Star WR Ryan Wingo
In a couple of months, the official visit season will get underway for the summer for head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program on the recruiting trail in the 2024 class. Texas is setting up to have a few really big official visit weekends in June, which could be the spark that Sark and this staff are looking for in the 2024 class this offseason.
An elite recruit was just added to the official visitor list for June late this week. On3 reported on the morning of April 28 that Texas has locked in an official visit with the elite five-star St. Louis University (MO) wide receiver Ryan Wingo for the weekend of June 16.
More specifically, Wingo’s official visit to Texas will take place from June 15-16.
Texas is one of four schools that Wingo currently is scheduled to see on an official visit in June. He’s also set three other official visits this summer including to see the Georgia Bulldogs (June 2), Michigan Wolverines (June 9), and Mizzou Tigers (June 23).

It sounds like Wingo is now fully focused on taking his official visits after having taken more than a half-dozen unofficial visits to various schools since last fall.

The official to Austin this summer will be Wingo’s first visit to Texas since he was on campus for the first Junior Day of the offseason on the weekend of Jan. 21, 2023. Wingo also visited Texas unofficially for the first time last summer.
This is a huge official visit for Sark, new wide receivers coach Chris Jackson, and the Longhorns to set for the summer. Wingo is rated as one of the top five wide receivers in the nation in the 2024 class and one of the top 25 prospects overall in the 247Sports Composite.

Wingo is the first five-star wide receiver recruit in the 2024 class to lock in an official visit date for the summer with the Longhorns. This will be a huge opportunity for Sark, Jackson, and the Longhorns to make a big move with one of the top wide receiver recruits in the nation in the 2024 class in a couple of months.
