Another future NBA Draft guard prospect that Texas could hypothetically pursue to shore up the backcourt rotation in the near future is the 6-foot-1 and 185-pound guard Urban Klavzar. The 19-year-old Slovenian scoring guard is one of the more interesting international college prospects that could soon be making his way to the states.

Klavzar is a tremendous scorer that averaged north of 16 points per game and more than three assists in league play with Real Madrid during the 2021-22 season. He also averaged around 14 points per game and four dimes in the 2022 20U Euro Championship with Slovenia.

Utilizing his strength and off-the-dribble quickness, Klavzar is more than capable of getting his points by driving to the rim or by dishing the ball out to his teammates on drive-and-kick plays. Klavzar is also a quality pick-and-roll ball-handler that can score from multiple levels of the floor or kick the ball down to the roll man at the basket.

The interesting part about Klavzar’s fit in the college game in the US is that he mostly plays as a primary ball-handler that can score the ball in a number of different ways while also still being mostly unproven as an off-ball scorer. I haven’t seen much of Klavzar playing off-ball over sustained stretches of games in Europe.

That would have to be a pretty big adjustment for him in the college game if he were to hypothetically choose Texas.

All in all, Klavzar would be a quality scoring guard that can also handle the primary distributing role on the offensive end for Texas as a reserve. Klavzar wouldn’t so much be a developmental player for the Longhorns as someone that would have to adjust to potentially either coming off the bench more often or playing as an off-ball scoring/combo guard.
