What could wind up being the most consequential offer the Longhorns extended during the Elite Camp last weekend was to the rising blue-chip Tyler (TX) Chapel Hill athlete Demetrius Brisbon. The two-way in-state athlete plays quarterback and defensive back for Chapel Hill High School.

But it looks like Texas offered Brisbon as a defensive back given the fact that safeties coach Blake Gideon and cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph are involved in this recruitment.

Brisbon got to work out at defensive back, specifically at the safety position mostly, in drills during the Texas Elite Camp last weekend. The early returns from the Elite Camp were that Brisbon looked like one of the most dominant players in one-on-one drills.

It’s clear that Brisbon made enough of an impression on the Texas coaches to be able to get an offer to play defensive back for the Longhorns. Texas is one of a little over a dozen schools to have offered Brisbon. Some other offers that Brisbon holds are from the Oregon Ducks, Kansas State Wildcats, Baylor Bears, Arkansas, and Texas Tech.

The Texas offer is a needle-mover for Brisbon. The physically gifted 5-foot-11 and 175-pound athlete looks to have Texas pretty high on his list coming out of the weekend visit.

Brisbon has already visited the SMU Mustangs multiple times as well as TCU and the Houston Cougars once. It also sounds like he’s in line to camp at TCU again this summer along with the Oklahoma Sooners.
