The sole summer enrollee among the high school signees in the Longhorns 2023 class is the former four-star Melissa interior offensive line recruit and true freshman OL Trevor Goosby. The 6-foot-7 and 280-pound in-state offensive lineman is apparently already looking the part as one of the most physically-overwhelming and potent players in the trenches among the freshmen.

Nahlin and Bobby Burton of On Texas Football (YouTube) recently reported that Goosby has “turned heads” early in summer workouts. He’s shown some “explosive movements” early in the summer workout program and he is generally “moving well”.

Goosby has already shown his pure size and wingspan when he measured in for the summer. He’s got a wingspan of around 6-foot-10 and stands at a towering 6-foot-7 in height.

What we still need to see out of Goosby, though, is the addition of more muscle mass to get at least north of 300 pounds. Currently sitting at 280 or 285 pounds, Goosby will have to get down to work in the weight room this summer to add some of the necessary size to fill out his frame and be ready to compete at a Power Five level in a year or two.

While Goosby already has a lot of the tools necessary to succeed along the interior offensive line for offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns in the long term, now is the time when he needs to get his body right to compete upon the transition from the Big 12 to the SEC in 2024.
