The recruitment that everyone is talking about this week is that of the elite five-star Temple (TX) Lake Belton wide receiver Micah Hudson. The elite in-state wideout is scheduled to make his official visit to Texas this weekend, specifically starting June 23.

But some reports were calling the status of that official visit into question late last weekend and early this week.

There is a lot of confidence coming from the Texas Tech Red Raiders after Hudson had a successful official visit to Lubbock last weekend. Thus, questions have emerged whether Hudson would still make the official trip to Texas this weekend after making a bit of a surprise unofficial visit to Austin before the Texas Tech OV late last week.

As of the writing of this article on the morning of June 20, though, it sounds like the official visit is still on for Hudson to see Austin this weekend. We will continue to follow this situation for any updates that surface throughout the week.

Moreover, the reason why Hudson is on this list of official visitors that either canceled or rescheduled for this week is that it sounds like the plan is for him to make it to campus at least one day later than originally anticipated. At the moment, it seems as if Hudson plans to make a trip to College Station to see the Texas A&M Aggies on June 22.

And then, Hudson will make the trip to Austin on June 24 after his team is done playing in the 7v7 Texas State Championships late this week.

It will be important for Texas to at least get Hudson to campus for the official visit this weekend. That will keep the Longhorns alive in this recruitment, giving Sark, new wide receiver coach Chris Jackson, and this staff a chance to counter the Texas Tech momentum this weekend.
