Texas Football: 4-Star EDGE Solomon Williams visiting Austin next weekend
Texas football is back on the grind on the recruiting trail for the 2024 and 2025 classes a couple of days before the end of the dead period for in-person visits. On July 25, Texas can host in-person visitors again on the Forty Acres.
One visitor from the 2024 class that the Longhorns will host for an unofficial visit next week is blue-chip Tampa (FL) Carrollwood Day edge rusher Solomon Williams. Multiple reports this weekend (including from Inside Texas) indicate that Williams will unofficially visit Texas on July 29 and 30.
Williams will be on campus for the annual late-July pool party/BBQ next weekend.

This will be Williams’ first time visiting Austin since Texas offered in early March 2023. He was initially set to take a mid-week official visit to Texas in late June, but the Longhorns staff canceled all mid-week visits last month.
Texas defensive line coach Bo Davis and running backs coach Tashard Choice reportedly visited Williams at Carrollwood Day High School in Florida back in mid-May during the spring evaluation period.
Texas among the top 7 schools for Williams
Williams included the Longhorns among his top seven schools, which he announced on social media on June 26. The other schools in his top seven are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Oregon Ducks, UCF Knights, Ohio State Buckeyes, Clemson Tigers, and Texas A&M Aggies.

The only official visit that Williams took this summer was to Tuscaloosa to see Alabama on June 16. He also visited Texas A&M (March 25) and Oregon (April 17) during the spring.
The 6-foot-2 and 255-pound blue-chip edge rusher out of Florida is a name to watch at the position for the Longhorns in the 2024 class heading into the fall. Texas is also targeting top-priority edge rushers in the 2024 class late this summer, such as Duncanville five-star Colin Simmons, Allen four-star Zina Umeozulu, and Oklahoma native four-star Danny Okoye.
