Marcus Harris, WR

For the first time since last summer, the high-four-star Mater Dei wide receiver Marcus Harris will be making an unofficial visit to Austin this week. Harris will make the trip with a few of his teammates to Austin starting July 25.

This will also be the first time that Harris gets to visit in person with new wide receivers coach Chris Jackson. He’s previously connected with special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks and Milwee. But he’s never met Jackson during an in-person visit, and he told Inside Texas earlier this month that he’s never communicated with Sark.

Texas has something interesting building with this emerging Mater Dei pipeline on the recruiting trail. Sark and the Longhorns staff already reeled in two commitments from Mater Dei players, three-star tight end Spencer Shannon and the head coach’s son, linebacker Brady Sarkisian.

The Longhorns are prioritizing a few blue-chips from Mater Dei in the 2024 and 2025 classes this summer, including five-star offensive tackle Brandon Baker and four-star IOL DeAndre Carter.

Regarding Harris’ recruitment, it’s worth noting that Texas’ new WR coach Jackson graduated from Mater Dei. Sark, Jackson, and the Longhorns have a lot of connections in play at Mater Dei in this recruitment for the top wide receiver recruit out of California in the 2025 class, Harris.
