The 2025 Texas football recruiting class is coming into focus for head coach Steve Sarkisian and this staff with only a few months remaining until signing day in mid-December. Texas has identified some of its early top priorities in the 2025 class after summer visits, including the late-July pool party/BBQ and the Elite Camp in early June.

A top priority recruit along the offensive line in the 2025 class for offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns is five-star Lewisville (TX) offensive tackle Michael Fasusi. Texas was late to the party in this recruitment among Fasusi’s top schools.

But Flood and the Longhorns made up a lot of ground during summer visits with Fasusi. Two successful unofficial visits in May and June helped the Longhorns close the gap on the leading Oklahoma Sooners and USC Trojans this summer.

Fasusi told Mike Roach of 247Sports that Sark and Flood “are showing me how much they want me”. This report also notes that the Longhorns are “coming on strong” in this recruitment in the last few months.

Texas is making it known how much of a priority Fasusi is in the 2025 class. It sounds like Texas is in constant communication with Fasusi heading into the fall.

"“I’m on the phone with them almost every day. They are showing me how much they want me and they are giving me and my family real evidence that they want me on their team.”"

Fasusi in the process of scheduling fall visits

Fasusi will have a busy fall visit schedule, from what’s mentioned in multiple reports at this point of his recruitment. He told Roach in this 247Sports piece that he wants to visit SEC schools during the fall, such as the Tennessee Volunteers, LSU Tigers, and potentially the Georgia Bulldogs.

Texas is one of the schools Fasusi plans to visit this fall. There isn’t a visit officially on the books for Fasusi to make it to a Texas game this season, but that could happen shortly.

Texas has Fasusi at the top of the board in the 2025 class among in-state offensive tackles

Heading into the fall, Fasusi is Texas’ top in-state priority among offensive tackle recruits in the 2025 class. The No. 1 offensive tackle recruit in Texas in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking is also one of Texas’ top in-state priorities among prospects at all positions in this cycle.
