After a big recruiting weekend for Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian last weekend for the win over the Wyoming Cowboys at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, this staff is prepared for another big one on Sep. 30. Sark and Texas are building another impressive visitor list for their Big 12 home opener at DKR on Sep. 30 against the Kansas Jayhawks and head coach Lance Leipold.
One of the biggest visitors added to the list for the Longhorns for the Kansas game was reported on Sep. 23 by multiple outlets (including Jason Suchomel of Orangebloods). The visitor we’re talking about is the highly touted four-star Beaumont United (TX) offensive tackle and Texas A&M Aggies commit Weston Davis.
This will be Davis’ first gameday visit he takes since committing to Texas A&M on June 26, 2023. Davis’ trip to Texas for the Kansas game next weekend will be an official visit.

Offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns have stayed on Davis early this fall. Texas will now get its swing at chipping away at Davis’ commitment to the Aggies during an official visit for a big game against Kansas early in Big 12 play.
OL recruiting popping back up this fall in the 2024 class
Flood and the Longhorns want to take three or four offensive line commits in the 2024 class heading into signing day in mid-December. Texas has commitments from four-star North Richland Hills (TX) Richland interior offensive lineman Daniel Cruz and three-star Humble (TX) Atascocita interior offensive lineman Nate Kibble.
Texas is in on the recruitment of the No. 1 offensive tackle recruit in the nation in the 2024 class in the 247Sports Composite, Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei five-star Brandon Baker, who announces on Sep. 24. Baker is Texas’ top priority recruit at offensive line in the 2024 class this fall.
But if Flood and the Longhorns want four scholarship offensive linemen in the 2024 class, Davis could be an important part of that mix. Texas is also reportedly looking at getting four-star Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei interior offensive lineman and Auburn Tigers commit DeAndre Carter to Austin for a visit for the Kansas game on Sep. 30.
