Colin Simmons, EDGE (UT commit)

The top-rated in-state commitment for the Longhorns in the 2024 class, the elite five-star Duncanville edge rusher Colin Simmons, saw a lot of things happen at AT&T Stadium this week. He was on the sideline at AT&T Stadium for the Dallas Cowboys’ win over the Seattle Seahawks on Nov. 30.

And while he wasn’t visiting Arlington for Texas’s win over Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship Game on Dec. 2, he was still closely paying attention to the results of the contest.

After Texas was selected for the Playoff on Dec. 3, Simmons reacted with a post on Instagram saying he made the right choice by giving his pledge to the Longhorns.

KJ Lacey, QB (UT commit)

Another highly-rated Texas commit who was pumped about the Longhorns’ success winning the Big 12 title and getting a spot in the College Football Playoff this weekend is the highly touted four-star Saraland (AL) quarterback KJ Lacey.

Lacey was active on social media this weekend, showing his recognition for the Longhorns after winning the Big 12 title and getting in the Playoff.

Lacey said that it was “crazy how everything went down” and that “everything was just set up perfectly for this year” for the Longhorns. He also said its now time for the Longhorns to “get in that playoff mode and take care of business”.
