In a few weeks, the field will be officially selected for the 2024-25 College Football Playoff 12-team bracket. Even though we're pretty late into the regular season, in mid-November, there still isn't much clarity regarding which teams (outside of the Big Ten) are the overall favorites to win the P4 conferences and clinch spots for the College Football Playoff this postseason.
Post-Week 12 2024 College Football Playoff Predictions include a move from the G5
The updated CFP rankings will be released on Tuesday night. We should be expecting some movement around the top 12 teams, but not a ton considering the chaos of Week 12 didn't even come close to matching the wild upset action of the previous weekend in Week 11.
Here's a look at the updated 12-team College Football Playoff bracket predictions, as we move closer to the postseason bracket being set after Week 12.

One projected conference champion and another highly-ranked team from the SEC fell out of this week's CFP bracket rankings. The Tennessee Volunteers just fell out of this week's projected CFP 12-team bracket after a 31-17 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on Nov. 16.
Tennessee played Georgia closer than a two-score game in Athens yesterday. But the loss still makes it much more difficult for the Vols to get a path to the SEC Championship Game next month.
The Kansas Jayhawks pulling off the road upset of the No. 6 BYU Cougars also shifted the projection for the Big 12 conference champion late this regular season. BYU's undefeated run ended with a close four-point loss to Kansas in Provo late in the night of Nov. 16.
No. 3 Texas football and the No. 13 SMU Mustangs hold two of the top three spots, behind the No. 1 Oregon Ducks, among the projected P4 conference champions. The No. 16 Colorado Buffaloes enter the rankings this week as the new projected Big 12 champion.
Colorado, the team that CBS Sports' Will Backus said deserves more attention in his Week 12 reactions, is starting to get more national recognition as a Playoff contender from the Big 12.
Georgia is the only team to re-enter the CFP projected bracket this week after its important home win over Tennessee on Saturday night.
The three teams on the outside looking in for this week's CFP projections for the 12-team bracket are Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Miami (in order from top to bottom).
