As reported by 24/7 Sports, the Texas Longhorns have successfully secured the commitment of Kohen Brown, a wide receiver from Waxahachie HS, for their 2026 recruiting class. This makes him the second receiver to pledge to Texas for the 2026 class.

Previously, Brown had committed to USC but opted to decommit in early May. He ultimately selected Texas over other strong contenders such as Notre Dame, Ole Miss, and Utah. In his junior season, he concluded with an impressive performance, achieving 54 receptions for a total of 1,084 yards and scoring 11 touchdowns while playing for the Waxahachie Indians.

Beyond his receiving statistics, he also rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns on just 15 carries. Kohen is a multi-talented athlete, excelling in various sports, including track and field, where he recorded an impressive 10.69 seconds in the 100-meter dash early in his junior season, according to MileSplit.

He also achieved a time of 22.39 seconds in the 200-meter event, despite having limited opportunities to compete.

At the next level, Brown is expected to operate primarily in the slot, leveraging his impressive speed to gain separation and execute impactful plays once he secures the ball. He skillfully tracks and reaches for the ball, showcasing agility and quickness that enhance his effectiveness in both the screen and jet sweep plays.
