The transfer portal is finally here for college basketball, as the window officially opened this morning and lasts until the 21st.

Sean Miller is going to have to be extremely aggressive during this time period if he wants to add two or three top-tier players. Texas' No.1 need is fairly obvious, as the Longhorns have to find replacements for the likes of Tramon Mark, Jordan Pope, and Chendall Weaver.

That being said, let's take a look at a few players who could not only adequately replace them but also help take the team to the next level in 2026/2027.

Shelstad is one of the top playmakers in the 2026 transfer portal, and his ability to create for his team is second to none. He was the main facilitator of Oregon's offense over the first 12 games of the season before getting injured. Without him, the Ducks had one of their worst seasons in recent history on both ends of the court.

Regardless of how Oregon did, Shelstad is still a top-ranked player in the portal and someone who could step in right away and take over at point guard for Jordan Pope. Shelstad's one of the few "true" point guards in this year's portal class, and he's most likely one of Sean Miller's top targets right now.

Blackwell was kind of a hybrid player who occasionally took the ball up the court and acted as Wisconsin's main source of scoring last year. It was somewhat of a shock when he revealed that he's entering the portal, and he might be the most sought-after combo guard right now.

His uncanny ability to drive and slash to the rim is incredibly fun to watch, and he's been excellent on defense for the Badgers over the past two seasons.

Blackwell would be an excellent addition for the Longhorns, providing the team with high-level perimeter play to go along with lots of NCAA Tournament experience.

Johnson is currently the top-ranked point guard in the portal, and for good reason. His ability to pass the ball and create while going full speed is one of his most sought-after traits, and his scoring prowess isn't too far behind on the list.

Alongside Jackson Shelstad, Johnson undoubtedly has the potential to lead the Longhorns back to the tournament in 2027, with the chance to go even further than they did this year.
