3 elite 2025 recruits Texas can land in November

Texas continues to push for the No. 2 linebacker recruit in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking this fall. High-four-star McKinney (TX) linebacker and Ohio State Buckeyes commit Riley Pettijohn was on campus for the Texas-Georgia game at DKR a couple of weeks ago.

It sounds like Pettijohn enjoyed the unofficial gameday visit to Texas for the Georgia game on Oct. 19. But that visit definitely do enough for the Longhorns to make any sizable dent in Pettijohn's commitment to Ohio State.

Among the three elite recruits on this list from the 2025 class, Texas probably has the smallest chances of flipping Pettijohn from Ohio State before signing day. As long as there is still a chance for the Longhorns in this recruitment, we know that this staff won't throw in the towel for Pettijohn until he puts pen to paper on signing day.

It will be interesting to see in this recruitment if the Longhorns are able to get Pettijohn back on campus for another gameday visit in November, and before signing day in December. If Texas gets Pettijohn to campus for the Kentucky or Florida games next month at DKR, the Longhorns' chances of flipping his commitment from Ohio State could get very real.
