3 key visiting recruits Texas can flip this weekend
Zion Williams, DL (LSU commit)
Another visitor reported earlier this week who is "expected" to visit the Longhorns among Texas's top flip targets in the 2025 class is four-star LSU Tigers defensive line commit Zion Williams. The blue-chip defensive tackle recruit from Lufkin (TX) High School, who has been committed to LSU since July 4, is a realistic flip target for the Longhorns if he follows through and makes it to campus today for the Kentucky game visit on Senior Day.
Williams has been considering taking a few visits to other schools before signing day in early December, given LSU's recent on-the-field struggles this fall in SEC play.
Baker and the Longhorns have had consistent communication with Williams over the past few months, which has strengthened the idea that he could visit Texas before signing day on Dec. 4.
Something worth watching if Williams makes it to campus in Austin for his trip this weekend is whether it will be an official visit or not. Williams didn't take an official visit to Texas before committing to LSU in early July this past summer.
It's also noteworthy that the elite five-star Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Hightower Kade Phillips is another LSU commit who could potentially visit Austin for the Kentucky game this afternoon. The reason why Phillips isn't on this list specifically is because his visit to Austin this weekend hasn't been officially confirmed as of the writing of this article on the late morning of Nov. 23.
