Per Inside Texas's Justin Wells, four-star LSU Tigers defensive line commit and Lufkin (TX) product Zion Williams is "expecting" to visit Texas football this weekend for the Kentucky game.

Texas football a threat to flip 4-Star DL Zion Williams from LSU?

This is a big development for the Longhorns to get Williams to campus likely for a gameday visit so close to signing day on Dec. 4.

Williams is one of multiple defensive tackles that defensive line coach Kenny Baker and the Longhorns are working to flip in the 2025 class this fall on the trail.

This will be Williams' first return visit to Texas since he made an unofficial trip for the Longhorn City Limits weekend on April 6. The visit this weekend will reportedly be an unofficial trip to Austin for the Texas-Kentucky game at DKR on Saturday afternoon.

Williams has not taken an official visit to Texas. He committed to LSU over the TCU Horned Frogs, Arkansas Razorbacks, Texas A&M Aggies, and Texas on July 4.

He committed to former Texas defensive line coach Bo Davis and the Tigers, but the Longhorns have consistently been working to chip away at his pledge to LSU since late in the summer last offseason. Baker has reportedly had productive conversations with Williams over the past few weeks, leading up to this gameday visit for the Texas-Kentucky game on Nov. 23.

Texas currently has two defensive linemen committed to the 2025 class, including Port Charlotte (FL) four-star Myron Charles and Folsom (CA) four-star Josiah Sharma. Baker and the Longhorns are looking to add at least one or two more defensive tackles via high school recruiting in the 2025 class before signing day in a couple of weeks.
