3 problematic Florida players vs. Texas
This upcoming weekend, No. 5 Texas football welcomes the Florida Gators and head coach Billy Napier to DKR in Austin for SEC play. Texas reaching the markers itself for itself of winning the SEC Championship Game and competing for a National Championship in the new 12-team College Football Playoff means it must avoid the traps of a game like this one against Florida.

While Florida had its fair share of ups and downs this fall, head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns must be prepared for a Gators team that has plenty of talent on both sides of the ball. Florida is a pretty injured team, but they still have key playmakers highlighting multiple position groups.
A big point for Florida this weekend will be the injury status of freshman quarterback DJ Lagway, who suffered a lower-body injury in their loss last weekend to the rival Georgia Bulldogs. Lagway's status on this week's SEC-mandated injury report is listed as "questionable" for the Gators.
Here are three problematic Florida players for the Longhorns to deal with in Week 11.
George Gumbs Jr., EDGE
Florida's edge rushers and outside backers have the ability to wreak havoc on the opposing team's backfield, led by upperclassmen like linebacker Shemar James and edge rusher George Gumbs Jr. The problem for the Gators hasn't necessarily been its size or speed up front but the ability to consistently contain opponent ground attacks.
The Gators rank 15th in the SEC in rushing defense and defensive rushing touchdowns. That said, it would be a mistake for the Longhorns to take lightly the five or six players along Florida's defensive front who are likely going to be playing in the NFL in the future.
Gumbs is a quick and athletic 6-foot-4 and 250-pound EDGE player who gets plenty of pressure on the opposing team's quarterback. He can be a very disruptive presence for Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers if the Longhorns aren't able to hold up in pass pro against Florida's EDGE guys this weekend.
Since the Longhorns have struggled so much in the first half of games in the SEC this season to get the offense moving the chains consistently and getting in the end zone early on, any disruption Gumbs can get on the Texas pocket could be problematic for Ewers and the offense.
