Texas Women's Basketball traveled to Lexington, KY, to take on the Kentucky Wildcats in a thrilling top-ten matchup tonight. Both teams kept the game close in the first half. It wasn't until the second half that the Longhorns woke up and sped away to a 67-49 victory over the Wildcats.

While the win wasn't as impressive as the one this past Sunday against South Carolina, beating a top-ten team is fantastic. The Longhorns should be proud of the way they handled business tonight.

This feels like a great win to get warmed up for Sunday when they take on the LSU Tigers at the Moody Center. It's the second to last home game for the senior class. I know the seniors will want another milestone win at the Moody Center after this past Sunday.

This has been a remarkable year that Vic Schaefer and his coaching staff has put together. You just don't want the magic to end just yet. Here are the three takeaways from tonight's win over the Kentucky Wildcats

Takeaways from Texas women's basketball's win over Kentucky: 3. Another great game from Madison Booker

While Madison Booker had a fantastic game against Kentucky tonight, I was more impressed by how smart she played. She played 38 minutes tonight and only picked up two fouls against the Wildcats. It's one of her most impressive games during conference play.

Coaches hate when their key players get into foul trouble. Schaefer didn't have to worry about her being on the court for almost the entire game. I hope she replicates that when the Tigers come to Austin this weekend.

. Kyla Oldacre provided good minutes off the bench

Give a round of applause to Kyla Oldacre for her performance off the bench. Ironically, she finished with 19 points after playing 19 minutes. The forward position was a weakness heading into the season because last year, there wasn't much depth.

Oldacre provided that this season in multiple games, including tonight's win in Lexington. Oldacre will be needed on Sunday when the Tigers come to town. Taylor Jones isn't going to be able to play all 40 minutes.

1. Rebounding won the game tonight

The one stat that helped the Longhorns win tonight's game was rebounding. They out-rebounded the Wildcats 45-28 tonight. That's a pretty impressive margin the Longhorns had on the boards tonight. Rebounding is one of those key stats teams need to lead in to win a game.

The Longhorns asserted themselves at the rim, earning them another win tonight. Rebounding is going to be crucial against the LSU Tigers on Sunday afternoon.
