4 most important visiting recruits for Texas vs. Texas A&M
Michael Fasusi, OT (OU commit)
There was some recent buzz surrounding the opportunity that Texas and Texas A&M had to flip the commitment of the elite five-star Lewisville (TX) offensive tackle Michael Fasusi from the Oklahoma Sooners before signing day in early December.
Texas hosted Fasusi for a successful gameday unofficial visit last weekend during the Senior Day win over the Kentucky Wildcats at DKR. But in the past few days in the fallout of Fasusi's visit to Texas for the Kentucky game last weekend, the smoke surrounding the potential of him flipping from the Sooners and head coach Brent Venables has quieted down a good bit.
Much of the possibility of Fasusi decididing to flip his commitment from the Sooners to the Longhorns or the Aggies before signing day depends on what OU does with longtime offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh.
Speculation has circled this fall around the college football media landscape, especially around the SEC, that Oklahoma is likely to make coaching staff changes next offseason, including with Bedenbaugh on the offensive staff.
Assuming Oklahoma does keep Bedenbaugh around next offseason, that would probably go a long way to keeping Fasusi committed in the 2025 class through signing day.
It's still an important unofficial visit for Fasusi to see Texas A&M at Kyle Field this weekend for the Lone Star Showdown against the Longhorns. A successful game and win for either offensive line for the Longhorns or the Aggies could make a big difference in this recruitment before signing day.
