While this might not be the same team that the Georgia Bulldogs had when they won back-to-back National Champions in 2021 and 2022, this is still a solid squad that No. 1 Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian is facing this upcoming weekend.

Georgia poses a big challenge for No. 1 Texas football at home in Week 8

No. 5 Georgia brings a solid offense and a defense chocked full of NFL talents at multiple position groups into the highly-anticipated top-five matchup at DKR in Week 8 against the Longhorns. Despite Georgia not bringing the same suffocating defense, specifically along the defensive line, this is obviously not a team the Longhorns will take lightly on either side of the ball.

Georgia has been a difficult team to figure out regarding their main issues on each side of the ball this season. One week, it looks like Georgia is struggling to stop the run, and the next it can't stop the Mississippi State Bulldogs from throwing for over 300 yards and three passing touchdowns.

Offensively, Georgia has really tried to stretch the field by hitting the deep ball against opposing defenses this season. Since the Dawgs haven't been able to run the ball consistently in the SEC this season, its offense has been forced to generate explosive plays to make meaningful gains for this unit.

Here are four problematic Georgia players for the Longhorns in Week 8.

Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, EDGE

Georgia's defensive line isn't nearly of the same strength that it was in the past few seasons under head coach Kirby Smart, especially during those national title runs in '21 and '22. The Dawgs also have some injuries and suspensions that have hurt the depth and performance at multiple key spots on defense.

Defensive end Mykel Williams hasn't been playing at close to 100 percent for most of SEC conference play for the past few weeks. Williams' limitations due to lingering injury issues has opened the door for the lengthy and athletic 6-foot-5 and 300-pound redshirt junior defensive end/edge rusher Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins to step up and make a bigger impact on Georgia's front seven this fall.

Ingram-Dawkins has not only been one of the top performers along the defensive line for Georgia in the regular season's first half, but he's also been one of the most important guys due to Williams' injury.

He utilizes his length and natural bend well coming off the edge to quickly get to opposing quarterbacks. Ingram-Dawkins leads the team in sacks (3) and quarterback pressures (13).

In run defense, Ingram-Dawkins can be an issue for opposing offensive tackles to handle, given his ability to set the edge and block running lanes for the opposing team's ball-carrier.

It will be possibly the biggest test that Texas's offensive tackles, Cam Williams and Kelvin Banks Jr., have faced to hold up consistently in run blocking and pass pro against Ingram-Dawkins at defensive end for Georgia in the trenches.
