4 reasons why Texas will beat Oklahoma

Texas Football will take on the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday afternoon at the Cotton Bowl in the Red River Rivalry. It will be the first time both teams will play in the Red River Rivalry game as part of the SEC. Fans of both teams pack the Cotton Bowl and cheer on their respective team.

The game brings a lot of money to the Texas State Fair when fans of either team will check out the food options after the game.

One of the interesting storylines this year is the Longhorns are favored by 14.5 points. That is a very rare stat since the games are usually very close. Can the Longhorns ride the momentum of being favored by 14.5 points, or will the Sooners upset the Longhorns? It's going to be a great game, regardless of the outcome. Why Texas football will defeat OU: 4. Texas might have discovered their new running tandem

The Longhorns might have discovered a new one-two running punch against Mississippi State. Tre Wisner and Jerrick Gibson might get most of the carries against the Sooners if there are still injury issues with the running backs.

Both running backs helped the Longhorns finish off the Bulldogs to win their first-ever SEC Conference football game. Don't be surprised if they end up helping the Longhorns win this week's game if things go south for the offense.

3. Michael Hawkins Jr. doesn't have the experience

Freshman quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. doesn't have a lot of experience playing college football, and the inexperience will show this weekend. Sophomore quarterback Jackson Arnold should be the starter for the Sooners, but I'm not a part of their coaching staff.

The Longhorn's defense should have no issue getting to Hawkins and taking him to the ground. Although, after seeing how bad the run defense was two weeks ago, they might not want to blitz him too much since Hawkins can run.

2. Sooners struggled against Auburn

The Sooners struggled against the Auburn Eagles, and it took them most of the game to catch up to them. The Sooners scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to make a comeback and beat the Eagles. The Longhorns won't let the Sooners see the light of day if they end up trailing early on in the game. They are going up against the last remaining undefeated SEC team in the conference, which also happens to be the top team in the country.

1. Quinn Ewers is back

Quinn Ewers is expected to return after his abdominal strain injury against the Sooners. Arch Manning did his job while Ewers recovered from his injury and deserves some kudos from the Longhorns fanbase.

Ewers will now take over the reins and look for his first SEC win on Saturday. That QB-WR chemistry that had issues against the Bulldogs should return to normal, and the Sooners might be unable to stop what's coming.
